UPPER STEERING POST REMOVAL
1. Remove front rack and front cover.
2. Remove the headlight pod from the handlebar
bracket.
NOTICE
Take note of all vent line, wiring harness, and throttle
cable routings for reassembly purposes.
3. Remove the (4) fasteners and (4) washers retaining
the handlebar bracket and block to the steering post.
4. Carefully remove the handlebar assembly from the
steering post and place it on the front cab.
IMPORTANT
Take care not to bend the throttle cable or brake line
while the handlebar is removed.
5. Disconnect the battery.
6. Remove the (2) pinch bolts and nuts retaining the
upper steering post to the EPS unit.
7. Remove the (2) fasteners retaining the bushing strap
bracket

to the bulkhead

IMPORTANT
Before you disengage the upper steering post from the
EPS unit, add a mark on the upper power steering
shaft. This mark should align with the mark on the
upper steering post.
8. Carefully lift the upper steering post up from the EPS
unit and remove the upper steering post from the
chassis.
