5. If the Hand Brake Master Cylinder Switch test
passes, resistance is within specification. Inspect the
circuit for correct operation. If there is a concern
found with the circuit repair, recheck operation.
6. If the concern is still present, it is possible that there
may be a concern with the ECU.

1. Disconnect the vehicle harness from the Brake
Pressure Switch.
2. Connect an ohmmeter across switch contacts. The
reading should be infinite (OL).
3. Apply the brakes and check for continuity between
the switch contacts. If there is no continuity or if
resistance is greater than 0.5 ohms, clean the switch
contacts and re-test. Replace switch if necessary.
4. Refer to “Rear Brake System Bleeding (International
Models)” if replacing the Brake Pressure Switch as
the brake bleeding procedure will need to be
performed.
