Engine Disassembly -- All Engines
21. Using a small screwdriver, pry the circlips out of each
piston.
CAUTION:
The circlip is under tension. Wear eye protection. Keep
your thumb on the edge of the clip to prevent it from
springing out.
22. Using a piston pin puller, remove the pins from each
piston.
23. Photo depicts parts involved with piston assembly.
Discard circlips and piston rings.
24. Bend locking straps open to access engine mounting
plate bolts. Remove engine mounting straps.
NOTE: Mark each engine strap designating its position for
easier assembly.
