Carburetor Disassembly / Inspection -- Continued
13. Remove accelerator pump components including
spring, diaphragm, dust boot, and O-ring. Check guide
bushing in pump body and replace front carburetor jet
block assembly if worn. The bushing is not replaceable.
14. Remove fuel pump body screws and carefully lift
assembly from carburetor.
15. Remove gasket, diaphragm, and O--ring. Examine
each for cracking, holes, distortion and fatigue.
Replace if required.
16. Inspect the check valves in the fuel pump body. The
valves cannot be disassembled and must be replaced
as an assembly.
17. Note position of limiter cap on low speed mixture
screw. Carefully remove the cap (pull off). T urn
mixture screw in (clockwise) while counting the exact
number of turns until lightly seated. Record the
number for future reference. Remove low speed
mixture screw, spring, washer, and O-ring. Carefully
inspect the tip of needle for wear or damage. Replace
if necessary.
