Pump Assembly / Installation -- Continued
3. Liberally grease the driveshaft, driveshaft splines, and
O--ring. Insert driveshaft into thru--hull fitting. Verify
that the correct bumpers are installed on driveshaft
ends and in good condition.
4. Slide bearing carrier hose over thru--hull fitting.
Grease bearing carrier seals, and insert carrier into
hose.
NOTE: Use extreme care when inserting driveshaft
through bearing caring. Do not fold seal lips over. Have
an assistant hold bearing carrier while inserting driveshaft.
5. Insert driveshaft into coupler. Tighten bearing carrier
worm gear clamps to specified torque.
6. Verify that water inlet tube is mounted snuggly in jet
nozzle assembly. Apply marine grade grease to tube
end prior to insertion into nozzle.
7. With all pump components attached to pump housing,
tighten the (4) pump mounting bolts to specification.
Use a criss--cross tightening sequencing when
torquing bolts.
