Water Injection Solenoid (Virage i)
Measure resistance between internal solenoid pins.
Water Temperature Sensor
Measure resistance between internal temperature sensor pins. Test in water bath. Reference specifications for
specific resistances at given temperatures. Diagnostic software can be used to verify test temperature and actual
sensor readings.
Stator Resistance
Measure resistance between each pair of pins as outlined on page 8.2.
Stator -- Short Circuit Test
Verify that there is no continuity between each individual pin and engine ground. If ANY continuity is found, the
stator must be replaced.
Stator -- Cranking Vac Test
While turning the engine over with the start button, verify the Vac generated by the stator as outlined on page 8.2.
Be aware the the battery, starter, starter gear, stator, and flywheel must be in operating condition in order for the
correct Vac to be generated. If the battery lacks enough voltage and amperage to turn the engine over fast
enough, cranking volts will be lower than specified. Always verify that the battery voltage during the test does
not drop below 10.5 Vdc.
