Fichtâ Fuel Injection System -- Troubleshooting
Symptom Possible Problem Corrective Action
Will Not Turn Over Disconnected Battery Connect Battery
MFI Security Enabled Enter 4 digit security code on MFI
to disable security functions
Lanyard Connection Connect Lanyard
Battery Cables Verify that positive and negative
battery cables are secured and
not compromised.
Corroded Connections Check voltage drop across sus-
pected problem connection.
Clean Connections
Loose splices, pinched wires,
loose Busst bars.
Verify all connections. Look for
any frayed or pinched wires.
Verify that splice block Busst
bars are intact and secured.
Start/StopSwitch Check start / stop switch with
multimeter. Replace if malfunc-
tioning.
Starter Solenoid Verify voltage at starter solenoid
when start / stop switch is
pressed.
Clean and re--torque battery con-
nection at solenoid.
Verify continuity from solenoid to
to starter.
Starter Motor Remove and inspect. Refer to
Electrical Chapter .
Circuit Breaker Verify that BOTH 15A circuit
breakers are not tripped and func-
tioning properly.
LR Module Failure Refer to Electrical Chapter
Seized Engine and/or pump.
Hydrolocked Engine
Visually Inspect inside of hull and
engine for signs of water inges-
tion.
Inspect pump for foreign material.
Index crankshaft.
