Service and Utilities Menu -Optio n 3 - Service EMM
The service EMM program will copy the faulty EMM’s software on your laptop, and then transfer this information
to the replacement EMM.
W ARNING
DO NOT TURN OFF YOU LAPTOP WHEN PERFORMING THE OPERATION. TURN OFF ALL OTHER PRO-
GRAMS THAT MAY BE RUNNING DURING THIS PROCEDURE. TURN OFF THE ANTI--VIRUS AND
SCREENSAVER PROGRAMS.
1. Verify that the lanyard, communication cable, and power jumper are connected to the watercraft.
2. T ype ²3² on the Service Utilities Menu to access the Service EMM function.
3. Download the damaged EMM’s information by pressing any key on the laptop.
4. Remove the lanyard and install the new EMM, but
maintain the communication cable and power
jumper connections. Only disconnect the 40--pin
and 12--pin connectors from the EMM.
5. With the new EMM installed, re-attach the
lanyard.
6. Press any key on the laptop to upload the copied
information to the new EMM. Press ²ESC² to
cancel the entire operation.
7. When the program is finished loading the
replacement EMM, the screen will display:
²REPLACEMENT EMM HAS BEEN
SUCCESSFULLY INITIALIZED!² Press any key
to return to the Service Utilities Main Menu
screen.
NOTE: When repairing an EMM, perform all steps cor-
rectly and completely. EMM information cannot be
saved in your laptop.
NOTE: Reactivate your screensaver and anti--virus
programs when procedure is complete.
Service and Utilities Menu -Option 4 - Engine Monitoring
NOTE: Remember to only disconnect the lanyard, 40--pin, and 12--pin connectors when replacing the old EMM
with the new EMM. Leave the 8--pin power jumper and communication cable attached to the watercraft/s wiring
harness.
