Procedure 7.9 - Replacing the Battery
1. For C842, C846i and C846 version 2 units, skip to step 11. For C846 version 1 units,
continue with step 2.
2. Set the on/off switch in the off position. If the cycle is equipped with an external power
adapter, disconnect the power adapter from the cycle.
3. Remove the right cover per Procedure 7.1.
4. Disconnect the red wires (two black wires on some old versions) from the positive battery
terminal (red stripe) and the black wires (black and orange wires on some old versions) from
the negative battery terminal.

5. Remove the two battery bracket mounting screws. Lift the battery bracket slightly and
remove the battery.
6. Orient the replacement battery as shown in Diagram 7.15, set the replacement battery in it’s
mounting position.
7. Slide the battery bracket into position, replace and tighten the two battery bracket mounting
screws.
8. Reconnect the battery wires as follows; black wires (black and orange wires on some old
versions) to the negative terminal of the battery and red wires (two black wires on some old
versions) to the positive terminal (red stripe) of the battery.
