10.2.4. CAN-WLAN Interface
In operation as a CAN-WLAN Interface, CAN data is transmitted wirelessly to other WLAN-capable devices such as
PCs, smartphones or tablets.
The CAN-WLAN Interface features two operating modes: infrastructure mode and access point mode. In infrastructure
mode, data transmission takes place via one or more access points. In access point mode, the CANlink wireless 4000
additionally provides a WLAN access point function.

WLAN FREQUENCIES AND CHANNELS
The user needs to configure the correct region in the world, where the device is operating. This is
for now US, Europe and Japan. If no region matches, the option World Wide needs to be selected
within the WLAN tab of the CANlink wireless configurator. The region setting will apply the list of
allowed Wifi channels and the corresponding maximum transmission power.
