Chapter 5 . Upgra de M em ory on QN AP Turbo N AS ( RAM M odule

The following instructions should only be perform ed by an aut horized and trained
technician.
St rict ly adhere t o the inst ructions to inst all a RAM m odule on t he NAS. Failure t o do so
could result in injury to hum an body or deat h.
Before starting, please ensure that you t urn off t he NAS, disconnect the power
adapt or, net w ork cable( s) , and also rem ove any other device/ cable t hat is at t ached to
the NAS.
Please ensure t hat you wear an antist atic wrist st rap during the ent ire process t o
prevent elect rostatic discharge. The crocodile clip should be connected t o the ground.
When installing m ore than one m em ory m odule, it is recom m ended t o use the sam e
size and ideally the sam e t ype/ m odel in every slot .
QNAP provides different RAM m odules ( optional purchase) t hrough its resellers for users to
upgrade t he NAS m em ory. Use of non- QNAP RAM m odules m ay cause system instabilit y.
Follow t he below steps t o install an extra m em ory m odule on t he NAS t o upgrade the
m em ory.

1. Use a flat head screwdriver t o loosen t he screw on the m em ory m odule com part m ent
at t he bottom of the NAS and lift t he com partm ent cover away.
