8. Close t he case cover and fasten the screws. Connect the power adapt or and cables t o
the NAS.
9. To check t hat t he net work expansion is recognized by the NAS, power up t he NAS and
login t he web interface as an adm inist rat or. Go t o “ System
Adm inistration”> “Network”> “TCP/ I P” and check the tot al num ber of net work
int erfaces.

The TS- 1635 provides a PCIe 2.0 x2 expansion slot so t hat users m ay choose to inst all a
net work expansion card for added net work perform ance.
To do so, follow the below st eps:
1. Turn off the NAS. Disconnect power cord( s) , network cable(s) , and any ot her cables
att ached t o the device.
2. Before opening t he NAS, wear an antistatic wrist st rap and connect the crocodile
clam p to ground t o prevent electrost atic discharge from dam aging equipm ent .
3. Loosen t he screws on t he back of the NAS t hat are connect ing t he case cover t o t he
case.
