Table 4-1 Power-on inspection
After the MSG is powered on, check its working status through LEDs.
For details about LEDs, see section 2.2 LEDs.
4.3 Installing software
Before leaving the factory, the MSG is installed with all required software. Therefore, the
MSG can be powered on and run after hardware installation.
4.3.1 Installing and upgrading system software
Files (such as the system software and configuration file) required for operating the MSG1200
are saved at its memory. By default, the system will ask you to confirm operations that may
cause data loss (such as deleting/overriding a file).
The system software and configuration file can be downloaded to the MSG1200 through Web.
In addition, they can be uploaded to the server or downloaded to the MSG1200 system
through TFTP/FTP.
4.3.2 Installing and upgrading NView NNM system
The MSG1200 supports the NView NNM system, which is of easy installation. You can
install the NView NNM system just by following the guides.
For details about the NView NNM system, see related menus.
