TRACTION CONTROL PEDAL(Fig.44 & 45)
1. Lift and support both front and rear wheels.
2. Remove balljoint (A) from footpedal.
3. Start engine and check if wheels turn. If
wheels turn switch off engine.
a. Loosen balljoint locknut (B) at pump
b. Turn bolt (C) until wheels stop turning.
c. lightly push and pull on bolt to check for
free play. Adjust nut (D) if necessary to
remove free play in spring. Repeat b.
above if necessary.
d. Tighten balljoint locknut (B) at pump.
4. Reattach balljoint to footpedal.
5. Start engine, if the wheels turn with the
footpedal in neutral, stop the engine, remove
balljoint from footpedal, loosen the locknut (E)
and turn the balljoint in or out as necessary on
rod (F). tighten locknut, reattach balljoint to
foot pedal. Repeat as necessary.
6. Check and tighten all nuts loosened for
adjustment.
7. Adjust the transport stop screw (G) to give a
transport speed of 15 k.p.h (9.3 m.p.h)
7. Adjust the mow stop screw (H) to give a
mow speed of 9 k.p.h (5.6 m.p.h)
8. Adjust the microswitch (J) to inhibit the ignition
if the neutral latch is not in neutral.
IMPORTANT: The engine should be switched off
when making adjustments
WARNING: Properly support raised machinery
with jack stands.
