Water quality – Water lter
For correct operation of water sensing
minimum water hardness: 5°dH, 90ppm
Conductivity: min. 50µS/cm
Water lter needed:
Water contains sand, other particles:
(A) Particle lter - 5- 15 µm
Water contains chlorine Cl2 above 0,2 mg/l:
(B) Active carbon lter
Water contains chloride Cl- above 80 mg/l:
(C) Reverse osmosis treatment
Note: C above, Reverse osmosis
water must be
blended with raw water or an additive used to
achieve the minimum required conductivity
(D) Hydrogen H+ Ion exchangers
such as Selecto Scientific Thermal
safe, Mavea (Brita), 3M, Everpure
etc. will greatly reduce the need
for descaling .
Combi Master Plus:
High amount of
(Rational discourages the use of sodium ion
exchangers (Salt water)
Possible reasons for corrosion
Excessive usage without cleanings
Ferritic accessories
Rusting water pipes
High Chlorine / Chroride content
Low quantities of minerals in water eg. (soft water with less
than 85ppm or 5 grains per gallon).
Insufficient cleaning procedures (Unit is not dryed over night) water
Water - Installation done correctly
Note: B above, Rational is selling Active Carbon
filters for Chlorine/Chloramines and will be
included with delivery of
unit when purchased.
of 50 µS, and prevent it being corrosive (aggressive)
Water Analysis
Which values are required?
Total hardness TH
Carbonate hardness CH
Conductivity in micro Siemens/cm
Ideal: Water analysis with chloride content value
scale build up
Note: descaling could be monthly or yearly depending on
useage and / or minerals in water.
