Mountingtheescutcheonplate
Forinstallationswherethetransducercablepassesthroughthetransomthe
suppliedescutcheonplateshouldbeusedtocoverthehole.
Note:
A
fteryouapplymarinegradesealantalwaysallowtimeforthesealantto
fullycurebeforeputtingyourvesselbackinthewater.
1.Holdtheescutcheonplateinplaceovertheholeinthetransom.
2.Markthelocationoftheescutcheonplate smountingholesonthe
transom.
3.Drillpilotholesinthemarkedlocations.
4.Filltheholewithmarinegradesealant.
5.Applymarinegradesealanttothethreadsofthesuppliedscrews.
6.Insertandtightenscrews.
7.6Testingandadjustingthetransducer
Aftertheinitialinstallationhasbeencarriedout,thetransducershouldbe
testedandifrequiredadjustedpriortofinalizingtheinstallation.
Thetestingshouldbecarriedoutwithyourvesselinthewater,withadepth
greaterthan0.7m(2.3ft)butlessthanthemaximumdepthrangeofthe
transducer/sonarchannel.
Note:
Itmaynotalwaysbepossibletoobtaindepthreadingsathigherspeeds,
duetoairbubblespassingunderthetransducer
.
Itmaybenecessarytomakeseveraladjustmentstothetransducer
beforeobtainingoptimumperformance.
Ifthetransducerrequiresrepositioning,ensurealloldholesarefilled
withmarinegradesealant.
1.OpentheFishfinder/SonarapponyourMFD,andselectthe[SONAR]
optionfromthemenu.
Afterafewseconds,theseabottomshouldbevisibleonscreen,and
adepthreadingdisplayed.
2.Startmovingyourvesselatalowspeed,ensuringyouhaveadepth
readingandaclearimageisdisplayed.
3.Graduallyincreasethevesselspeedwhilstcheckingthesonarimage.If
theimagebecomespoororthebottomismissingatlowerspeeds,then
thetransducerneedstobeadjusted.
4.Angleandheightadjustmentsshouldbemadeinsmallincrementsand
re-testedeachtimeuntilyouobtainoptimumperformance.
i.Loosenthemountingbolttoadjustthetransducerangle.
