8. Go back to REDMOTE Upgrade Utility and click Connect to establish communication with the REDMOTE.
Connection is Established With REDMOTE will be displayed when connected. If the connection is not es-
tablished, then disable all internet connections and try again.
9. Go to “Upgrade REDMOTE Firmware (Macintosh)” on page 118.
UPGRADE REDMOTE FIRMWARE (MACINTOSH)
The following information will guide you through proper updating of your REDMOTE firmware.
1. Download the REDMOTE Firmware file located at www.red.com/downloads.
NOTE: Review the read_me_redmote_vX.X.XX instructions contained in the REDMOTE_vX.X.XX.zip file.
2. Uncompress the zip file.
3. Open the REDMOTE_vX.X.XX folder.
4. Click Select File in REDMOTE Upgrade Utility.
5. Open the redmote.1.bin file in the REDMOTE_Firmware_vX.X.XX folder.
The following displays: “Selected File: redmote.1.bin”.
6. Click Start Upgrade.
The following displays: “File Transfer Progress”.
The REDMOTE displays the following: “Upgrading Firmware…”. A green status bar show sthe progress of
the upgrade. The upgrade process can also be tracked on another display.
After the file transfer is completed, the REDMOTE displays the following: “Firmware Upgrade Successfully
Done”.
7. Click OK.
8. Click Disconnect to close the REDMOTE Upgrade Utility.
The REDMOTE reboots.
After the upgrade is complete, the REDMOTE displays “POWER UP” and then “SEARCHING”.
9. Select Cancel.
10. Go to Settings > Maintenance > System Status > Camera Info and verify the current REDMOTE firmware ver-
sion.
The REDMOTE upgrade is complete and you can now attach it to the DSMC BRAIN.
NOTE: You may not need to pair the REDMOTE after upgrading REDMOTE firmware. However, you must pair
the REDMOTE after you upgrade camera firmware.
UPGRADE REDMOTE (WINDOWS)
INSTALL REDMOTE UPGRADE UTILITY (WINDOWS)
The REDMOTE Upgrade Utility allows you to upgrade the firmware on your REDMOTE.
NOTE: You must pair the REDMOTE to the camera after you upgrade the REDMOTE with the REDMOTE Upgrade
Utility.
1. Download the DSMC Toolkit file located at www.red.com/downloads.
2. Uncompress and open the DSMC_Toolkit_vX.X zip file.
3. Open the DSMC_Toolkit_vX.X zip file.
4. Open the REDMOTE_Upgrade_Utility folder.
5. Open the Win folder.
6. Open REDMOTE_upgrade_setup.exe.
7. Click Extract All.
