Engine/gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(80A, Battery),
- the battery tray (see Battery tray: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Loosen the clip on the throttle valve air inlet pipe.
a Disconnect the air outlet pipe from the air filter unit.
a Remove
- the air outlet pipe to the air filter unit,
- the air filter unit (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Air filter
unit: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-4) .
Essential special tooling
Ms. 583 Hose clamp pliers.
Mot. 1448 Long nose pliers for hose
clips.
Mot. 1390 Support for removing/refitting
the engine - gearbox assem-
bly.
Essential equipment
refrigerant charging station
Tightening torquesm
bolt on the rubber pad
support of the left-hand
suspended engine
mounting
62 N.m
earth nut on the body 8 N.m
bracket bolt of the con-
necting pipe between
the « compressor -
expansion valve » on
the compressor
8 N.m
battery wiring nuts on
the offset positive termi-
nal
8 N.m
connecting pipe bolts on
the condenser
8 N.m
air inlet pipe clip of the
throttle valve
6 N.m
WARNING
In order to avoid any refrigerant leaks, do not
damage (deform, twist, etc.) the pipe.
WARNING
To prevent moisture from entering the system,
place plugs on the cold loop components which are
open to the air.
IMPORTANT
Wear protective gloves during the operation.
IMPORTANT
To prevent the vehicle from falling, lash it to the
vehicle lift using a strap.
