Complete the following steps to connect the HortiJet Pro to the water supply:
1. Make two branches to the main pipe and fit these with manual valves.
2. Remove the dummy pipes from the inlet and outlet of the HortiJet. These are
only included for transportation purposes.
3. Connect the inlet and outlet of the HortiJet to the branches from the main pipe.
4. Connect the supply hoses provided for the fertilizers (and acid) to the dosing
channels.
The HortiJet Pro needs to be positioned so that the water flows from the main pipe
past the outlet to the inlet. This enables the fertilizers to mix with the water in the
main pipe before the water enters the HortiJet again, so that the dosage can be
regulated and adjusted.
The HortiJet Pro is built using metric units of measurement; adaptors for
imperial units are also delivered as standard.
4.4 Connecting electrical components
The electrical components include all the components that must be connected to
provide the HortiJet and connected equipment/accessories with electricity and digital
information. This includes: the power cable, network cables, pipes and switches.
To connect the electrical components, complete the following steps:
1. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds to the design specifications of
the HortiJet Pro. If this is not the case, please contact Ridder Growing Solutions.
2. Make sure that the power switch is set to 0 (off).
3. Make sure that the HortiJet pump has been switched off manually.
4. Connect the supply voltage according to the wiring diagram provided.
5. Connect the external meters, valves and the irrigation main pump according to
the wiring diagram.
When the HortiJet pump starts, the main irrigation pump should start
working. If this does not happen, the pressure switch will measure too
low a pressure and trigger an alarm.
6. Connect your PC to the HortiJet Pro / CX500. See the section "Connect PC to
HortiJet Pro / CX500" below.
7. Set the power switch to position I (on). See the section "Power switch" on
page42.
4.4.1 Connect PC to HortiJet Pro / CX500
To operate the HortiJet Pro with Synopta, a connection is required between your PC
and the HortiJet Pro / CX500.
To install the programs, you need an Ethernet cable (CAT 5 UTP); this is not
included as standard.
