4.5.3 Connecting the pH sensor
Zero, one or two pH sensors can be connected to the HortiJet Pro. If two sensors are
connected, the first sensor in the direction of water flow is the control sensor, and the
second sensor is the verification sensor (also see section "Sensors" on page13).
To connect an extra or new pH sensor, complete the following steps:
1. Make sure that there is no water pressure in the HortiJet.
2. Connect the wiring according to the included wiring diagram.
3. Remove the protective cap from the sensor.
4. Calibrate the sensor. See section "Calibrating the sensors" on page37 for
explanation and documentation.
5. Unscrew the sealing cap at the location where the sensor will be connected.
6. Place the sensor in the hole.
You can find more information in the OEM manual provided with the pH sensor.
A pH sensor must not be allowed to dry out. The pH sensor is kept moist
during transport and storage with a protective cap containing water. Remove
this cap before use and place the sensor back into it if the HortiJet Pro is not in
use for an extended period.
4.5.4 Connecting the I/O modules
Depending on the elements added to the configuration, you will need to install one or
more I/O modules in the cabinet. (Also see the section "I/O modules" on page14.)
A module can have one of three different statuses:
Offline mode: the module has not yet been assigned a unique address and is
disconnected from the network.
Activation mode (plug-and-play mode): the module is ready to be assigned an
address. This address will be generated automatically.
Online mode: the module has been assigned a unique address and is connected
to the network.
The modules will then need to be assigned a module address (or an ID).
When assigning a module address, only one module may be set to activation
mode at the same time. This is to prevent network conflicts.
Every I/O module must be registered. This includes the modules that have been
delivered with your order.
Consult the "CX Assistant Tutorial" guide and/or the enclosed "CompactiMa Modules
Insert" for more information about connecting and registering the I/O modules.
