To Use PC Software
You can control the instrument remotely by sending SCPI commands using PC
software (RIGOL Ultra Sigma). This section introduces in details how to use Ultra
Sigma to send commands through multiple interfaces to control M300. Please refer
to Ultra Sigma Help to install the software and the components required correctly.
About how to acquire the Ultra Sigma software, please contact with RIGOL.
To Control M300 through GPIB
1 Connect the device
Connect the instrument with the PC with GPIB card installed using GPIB cable
before using the GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus) Interface.
2 Install the driver of GPIB card
Install the driver of the GPIB card which has been connected to the PC correctly.
3 Set the GPIB address
Set the GPIB address of the instrument according to the description inTo Set
GPIB Address.
4 Search device resource
Start up the Ultra Sigma and click
to open the panel as shown in
the figure below. Click “Search” and the software will search the GPIB
instrument resources connected to the PC. The device resources will be
displayed on the right side of the panel.
If resources cannot be found automatically:
Select the GPIB card address of the PC from the comboBox of “GPIB0::” and
select the GPIB address set in the instrument from the comboBox of “0::INSTR.
Click “Test” to check whether the GPIB communication works normally; if not,
please follow the corresponding prompt messages to solve the problem.
