Getting ready to play
The FR-3x is an electronic instrument that reqLlires
same form of electrical power. This chapter explains
how
to power YOLir F R- 3x LIsing the sLipplied adaptor or
70 commercially available
recha r geabl e b att er ies (AA-
type Ni- MH). In addition, YOLi will le am how to connect
YOLir FR-3x to an extemal amplification system.
Connecting the AC adaptor
[NOTE]
To preven t Illalfunct ion and/or da ill age to speakers or other
devices, always turn clown t he vo i LIme, ancl t urn off t he
power on all devices before Illaking any connec t ions.
1. Turn the [VOL] knob all the way towards the
small dot to minimize the volume.
2. Connect the included power cord to the AC
ad apter.

Place t he AC adap tor 50 the side with the illdicator
(see illustratioll) faces upwards alld the side with tex-

Depend ing on your region, the inclu decl power cardmay
differ from t he one shown above.

We recommend th at yo u keep batteries in stalled in the unit
even if you'll be powering it wi th th e AC adaptor. That way ,
you'll be able to con t inue a performance even if the card of
th e AC adap t or gets accidently disconnectecl from th e unit.

Be sure to Li se only the AC adap tor supp l ied wi th the uni t
(P
SB-7 U). Al so, make sure t he line vo lt age at t he insta ll a-
t ion matches the inpu t vol t age specified on t he AC adap-
t or 's bocly. Ot her AC adaptors may use a clifferen t polar ity,
or be designed for a different vol t age, 50 t hei r use could
result in damage, malfunct ion , or elec t ric shock.
3. Connect the AC adaptor to the FR-3x's DC
IN jack.
4. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
Now that t he FR-3x is cOllllect ed to a wall o ut le t, you
call cOlltillue with the sectioll "Swi tchillg the power
011 alld off" 011 p. 21. To u se the FR - 3x wi th batteries,
see "I llstallillg alld removillg batteries" 011 p. 16.

If t he FR-3x is to remain unusecl for an extended periocl of
time, unplug the adap t or.

To prevent the inaclver tent disrup t ion of power to your un it
(shoLild t he plug be pu ll ecl ou t acc i den t ally), and to avoicl
app lyi ng unclue st ress to t he AC aclaptor jack, anchor the
