• DUAL/SOLO mode (register [8])
Pressing register [8] wh il e holding do wn [ORGAN/
ORCHESTRA ] allows yo u to alt erna te between DU AL
and SOL O modes. (After switching on the FR -3x,
pressing this register once se l ects SOLO mod e.)
SOLO mode DU AL mode
In SOLO mode, the trebl e keyboar d on ly plays t he
selected accordion, orchestral or organ so und. DU AL
mode means that the orchestral or organ sound is
added to the treble accordion sound.
• LOW/HIGH mode (register [7])
Pr essing regis ter [7] while holding do wn [ORG A N/
ORCHESTRA] alternates between HIGH an d L OW
modes.
HIGH mode LOW mode
If yo u selec t HI GH mode and play just one note , YOLi
hear the orchestral or organ sO LI nd. If YO Li keep hold-
ing th at key while pressing another (Iower) key to its
left,
th e lower notes are played by the treble accor-
dion sOLInd. This is perfec t for sit Li ations where YOLi
need to play chords and a solo line using different
so u nds. Something li ke this:

LOW mo de is the opposite of HIGH : notes above t he
one whose key you are holding do wn are sounded by
th e accordion regis t er. T his can be used in situations
where the melod y (or cO Li nter-melody) lies above the
notes YO Li wish to hold .

Transposing the treble section in octave steps
Th e FR-3 x 's treble key board has a ma x imLim range of 3
octaves. Th ere may be t imes, however, when YO Li need
to p la y higher or lower notes t han the piano or butt on
keyboard allows. U nlike an acoustic accord ion, the
FR -3x allows yo u to transpose th e piano or bLitton key-
board one octave up or down.
An addi tio nal advantage of this functionality is that
yo u can play the selected orches tral or organ sOLind in a
different
octave in DUAL mode ( see "Sel ecting th e
ORG AN /ORCHE STRA mode" on p. 27) .
1. To transpose one octave down, hold down
the
[SEl] register and press treble register
[1] (OeT -l.
[NOTE]
If you hold down [S ET ] for Illore t han 2 seconds without
pressing ano ther r egister , the F R-3x switches to PAR AME -
TER Illod e. In that case , press [SET] again to leave that
Ill ode , th en r epea t step l.
2, To transpose one octave up, hold down the
[SET] register and press treble register [2]
(OCT +).
