Introduction
Thank you, and congratulations on your choice of this Roland product.
This Owner’s Manual contains information and instructions concerning both the RHYTHM
COACH (RM-2) and the V-PRACTICE PAD (RP-2). If you have purchased only the
RHYTHM COACH (RM-2), then refer only to the relevant portions.
Main Features
RHYTHM COACH (RM-2)
• LED indicators for the metronome, that
essential practice tool. Now you can
follow the beat visually as well for even
better practices.
• Includes carefully selected sounds for rich
expressions.
• Features an enjoyable “Intelligent Coach”
function, which can help you to progress
more effectively (p. 18).
• Simple to operate and designed for easy
viewing, the unit is housed in a compact
body that is portable and convenient.
• Can used to practice along with sounds on
CDs and MDs (Mix In).
• Best used with a V-PRACTICE PAD (RP-2).
• Tempos can be changed not only from the
RM-2, but by striking the pads as well (p. 13).
• Compatible with PD-80R/120 rim sensors,
allowing you to play rim shots (p. 24).
• If you use both trigger inputs, you can
practice using two pads you’ve connected. Or, you can get in some practice on the kick drum
by connecting a KD-7 (p. 23).
• Offers extended battery-powered operation. An AC adaptor (sold separately) can also be used.
V-PRACTICE PAD (RP-2)
• Uses the same type of mesh head as used with Roland’s V-Drums Series. Superior feel and
quiet striking make it an excellent choice for practice.
• The head can be adjusted to the desired tension.
• A special pad stand (PDS-2) (sold separately) that allows you to change the height and angle
as desired. Whether standing or seated, this is perfect for extended practice sessions.
