Operation of the RM-2
Step Down ( )
Step Down mode is designed to begin at a fast pace and gradually slow thus building
stamina. In this mode, the metronome’s tempo will decrease by five beats per minute (5
BPM) after every eight measures. This will continue until the metronome’s minimum tempo
is achieved.
1. In the Coach mode, use the [ ] or [ ] button until ““ is displayed.
2. Push the [METRONOME] button to begin.
After starting the metronome, you can set the desired minimum tempo by pushing
the [ ] button when it reaches the desired tempo. To clear the minimum tempo,
press the [ ] button (initial value: 10).
Step Up/Down ( )
Step Up/Down mode is designed to increase playing endurance by slowly increasing and
decreasing the speed of the metronome. In this mode, the metronome’s tempo will increase
by five beats per minute (5 BPM) after every eight measures until it reaches the metronome’s
maximum tempo. After the maximum tempo is achieved, the metronome’s tempo will
decrease by five beats per minute (5 BPM) after every eight measures. This will continue
until it reaches back to the metronome’s starting tempo and then repeat the process.
1. In the Coach mode, use the [ ] or [ ] button until ““ is displayed.
2. Push the [METRONOME] button to begin.
After starting the metronome, you can set the desired maximum tempo by pushing
the [ ] button when it reaches the desired tempo. To clear the maximum tempo,
press the [ ] button (initial value: 300).
Timer ( – )
The timer is a simple mode where an interval of time is set to play. Although simple, it’s
flexible nature allows the timer’s capabilities to provide a variety of useful practicing
exercises. It can build speed by playing very quickly in a short amount of time, or build
endurance by playing for a long period of time.
1. In the Coach mode, use the [ ] or [ ] button to select one of the timing options.
: 1 minute : 10 minutes
: 2 minutes : 15 minutes
: 3 minutes : 30 minutes
: 5 minutes : 60 minutes
2. Push the [METRONOME] button to begin.
3. The last minute will display a 60 second count down followed by an alarm and flashing lights
to signal the end of the timing period.
•While the “Timer“ is working, you cannot try any other Coach mode exercise.
•You can use the [SELECT] button to change things such as the “BEAT“ and
“RHYTHM TYPE.“
•If you stop the metronome in any mode other than Coach, the timer will continue
working. In that case, the [COACH] indicator flashes, indicating that the timer is
still working. If you want to stop the timer, press the [METRONOME] button in
the Coach mode.
