Important notes on Bluetooth communication
This machine supports the operaon applicaon, which is an applicaon for mobile terminals. When
using the operaon applicaon, set this machine's Bluetooth communicaon to "ENABLE." However,
when you are operang this machine from its operaon panel, you cannot perform operaons from
the operaon applicaon.
With Bluetooth wireless technology, it is possible to establish a connecon between devices separated
by approximately 10 m (32.8 .). However, the valid range of the connecon may vary depending on
the presence of obstacles (such as people, metal, and walls) and the status of the radio waves.
The communicaon status of the Bluetooth connecon may become unstable if:
¾
A wireless LAN is in place in the locaon.
¾
The devices are in the vicinity of a microwave that is in use.
¾
Other electromagnec waves are generated in the locaon.
Bluetooth communicaon uses the same frequency band (2.4 GHz) as wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b/
g). If the devices are used in the vicinity of equipment in which a wireless LAN unit is installed, the
connecon status may become unstable due to the occurrence of radio-frequency interference. In this
situaon, carry out the following countermeasures.
¾
When using Bluetooth communicaon to connect the printer and the mobile terminal, do so at
a distance of 10 m (32.8 .) or more away from the equipment in which a wireless LAN unit is
installed.
¾
Bring the mobile terminal and the printer as close together as possible.
¾
If using Bluetooth communicaon within 10 m (32.8 .) of the equipment in which a wireless LAN
unit is installed, turn o the wireless LAN unit.
The radio waves generated by Bluetooth communicaon may have an eect on the operaon of
electronic medical equipment and similar devices. This may lead to accidents, so turn o Bluetooth
communicaon in the following locaons.
¾
The vicinity of in-use hearing aids and pacemakers
¾
Hospitals
¾
The vicinity of automac doors and re alarms
Using Bluetooth communicaon in the vicinity of TVs or radios may lead to noise in the image or au-
dio.
Roland DG Corporaon accepts no responsibility for the leakage of informaon during a connecon
using Bluetooth technology.
The mobile terminal that you are using to connect to the printer must comply with Bluetooth stan-
dards determined by the Bluetooth SIG and must be a cered device.
Even if the mobile terminal complies with the Bluetooth standards outlined above, phenomena may
occur due to the characteriscs and specicaons of the device. Examples of these phenomena in-
clude the inability to connect to the printer and the operaon methods, display, and operaons being
dierent.
Depending on the mobile terminal that you are connecng to the printer, it may take some me unl
the Bluetooth connecon can be established.
