X. Basic Maintenance & Parts Replacement
1. Personal maintenance
If you repair your car without knowing much about the car, your car may be damaged. Make sure that you have adequate knowledge and experience to
replace the parts or use tools correctly before trying to do any maintenance by yourself. Make sure that you are using the right nuts, bolts and other
fasteners. Misuse of fasteners may lead to the breakage or looseness of parts and you got hurt as a result.
2. Check and replacement of the transmission oil
The transmission oil check had better be performed together with the engine check. The transmission oil should be replaced a time every 2,000 kilometers. The steps
are as follows:
1. Remove the plastic refueling screw at the transmission top with wrench
2. Remove the drainage bolt at the transmission bottom counterclockwise with applicable wrench or shifting wrench,
3. Pour the oil into the container and tighten the bolt clockwise after all the oil is drained.
1. Too much or too little transmission oil will damage the transmission. Too much oil will cause overflow while too little oil will accelerate the undue
abrasion of gears. Therefore, regular check is needed and every two months a check is recommended.
2. The transmission oil should be of the right type and misuse is forbidden. The misuse will damage the transmission gears. The right type shall be 85W-90.
3. Refill the oil regularly to keep the oil at a normal level.
3. Brake
The brake fluid container is in the front chamber and near the coolant container. The level of brake fluid in the container shall not be
lower than the position as shown in the picture, or add brake fluid. The brake fluid level drops for two reasons. One is that the oil level
drops to the acceptable position due to the normal abrasion of the brake frictional plate. The oil level will restore after the replacement
of frictional plate. The other is that the brake fluid leaks. In this case, you should get the braking system repaired because the leakage
means that the brake won’t function normally sooner or later or even cause car accidents without braking system.
The wrong type of brake fluid may cause serious damage to the braking system parts. For example: several drops of mineral oil will seriously damage
the parking system part and you will have to replace the part as a result. Don’t use wrong brake fluid. If the brake fluid splashes, clean it up immediately.
4. Battery
If your car is equipped with maintenance-free battery, use as the same type of battery as the original one at the time of replacement.
