3.7 Adjusting the head angle
The head angle of the SCRUB can be changed by +/- 1° via the headset. A slacker head angle improves the bike’s smooth
running and can be an advantage on steep and technical trails. A steeper head angle, on the other hand, gives your bike
more agility and playfulness. When delivered, the headset is in the steep setting.
To change the head angle, the cups inserted in the head tube of your frame must be removed and mounted again after
having been rotated by 180°.
1. Disassemble the suspension fork.
2. Remove the upper and lower bearing cup from the frame.
3. Apply a thin layer of grease to the inside of the bearing cups (marked red) and then insert the ball bearings with the
chamfer facing the cup. Afterwards, insert the bearing cups together with the bearings into the frame.
Important: The markings on the bearing cups must point into the same direction.
4. Mount the suspension fork in the bike.
5. Adjusting the headset play (see “3.2 Installing and adjusting the handlebar” on page 31).
When mounting your fork, pay attention to the manufacturer’s instructions! Especially the
assembly and the adjustment of the headset play of a Rock Shox Boxxer suspension fork
require some important steps. Scan this QR code to access the user manual of your Boxxer
suspension fork.
