6. Maintenance and care
Regular care and maintenance will prolong the life of your new bicycle. You should carry out easy cleaning, servicing and
repair tasks yourself (see “4. Before and after your ride” on page 39).
6.1 Bike inspection
DANGER
Risk of accident due to overdue maintenance and service!
When neglecting maintenance and servicing, worn components may cause accidents.
The service works and intervals mentioned in this manual must be observed.
Service and maintenance works must be carried out by the ROSE service or a qualified bicycle mechanic.
A bike inspection includes a complete check of all components. Servicing is required after a specific period of time or after
a certain amount of kilometres ridden, whichever comes first.

Conduct a visual inspection of the frame
to check for damages such as cracks
and deformities, discoloration, as well as
chafing marks from cable casings or brake
hoses.

Suspension

Visual check for damages, such as cracks
and deformities, as well as discolourations.

Light service, bearing in mind manufacturer
guidelines!

Major service, bearing in mind manufacturer
guidelines!

Headset
Disassemble the headset, clean, lubricate
and re-assemble it.
Replace bearings that don’t run smoothly
or that show signs of corrosion.

Check headset cups if play cannot be
adjusted.

Seat post
Disassemble the seat post, clean the
seat post and the frame’s seat tube and
reassemble without using lubrication.
Check the torque.
