2. WAN Security Setup: This setup here will allow you to configure
features that helps your router from outside hack attempts.
• Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection: This function
protects your LAN against DoS attack. Do not disable this
firewall function unless a special situation occurs.
• Respond to Ping on Internet Port: If you want the router
to respond to ping commands from the Internet, select
the check box. The ping command can be used for
diagnosis. Like a DMZ server, this function also leads to
security risks. Hence, do not select the check box unless
it is necessary.
• Default DMZ Server: Enter the IP address of a computer
or server that serves as a DMZ server.
