Attention: Never knock at the brackets for guidance of the adjustment screws, this would
damage the steering wheel hub.
Note: The tightening torque of 5 Nm / 44 lb. in. has to be respected all the times, as with a
higher torque the steering wheel hub would be damaged.
Attention: A steering wheel from other manufacturer is not identical with the original one and
can cause problems with operation of gear shift paddle and/or the steering to fail.
Note: If you wish to use the steering wheel of a other manufacturer, please, contact a
ROTAX Service Center.
4.13. Removal and installation of airfilter
The airfilter has to be cleaned and lubricated regularly (after every 10 operating hours). Depending
on the ambient conditions (e.g. use on dusty circuits) it may be necessary to clean and lubricate
the air filter more often. To remove the air filter proceed as follows:
¨ Remove the fairing left side.
¨ Open the 4 latches at the air filter box
cover (pos.2).
¨ Remove the air filter box cover (pos.2).
¨ Remove the air filter (pos.3).
At reassembly proceed in reverse sequence.
Note: This air filter is composed of
several layers and is optimized
for air flow and filter effect. If
contaminated it can be cleaned
with bio-degradable cleaning
agents.
Note: For cleaning and lubricating use the original ROTAX cleaning set (pos.10) (ROTAX
part no. 297 160)
Attention: Never use the vehicle without air filter, this may cause engine damage.
