2. BECOMING FAMILIAR WITH YOUR VEHICLE
2.1. Position of serial number
Both the vehicle and the engine are identified by a
serial number.
Engine:
The engine is marked with a 6-digit number.
Vehicle:
The vehicle is marked with a 4 (Mod. 2002)- or 5-digit
number (from Mod. 2003 onwards), (see illustration).
For vehicles from model 2003 onward the serial number is
marked on a tag at the rear cross member (without
illustration).
Note: Please, always indicate these serial numbers when contacting a ROTAX distribution
partner or a ROTAX Service Center. Having these numbers available facilitates
assistance.
2.2. ON – OFF switch
The ON – OFF switch (pos. 1) can be set in 3 different
positions:
OFF engine is stopped
ON ignition switched on, all electrical
systems are operating
START start of engine
Attention: In "ON" position all electrical systems are supplied with current. This can, after some
time, cause discharging of the battery, even if the engine is at standstill, and can in
the long term damage the battery.
