6. OPTIMIZATION OF DRIVING PERFORMANCE
6.1. Engine
6.1.1. Carburetor adjustment
The standard carburetor jetting and the values indicated for the various ambient conditions are of
course only indicative values and may, due to other reasons (ambient conditions, condition of
circuit, shape of race track....) not be sufficient for obtaining the maximum potential of the engine.
Whether the jetting is too rich or lean can only be judged by experience at various features
(appearance of spark plug, piston crown ....) and should be left to experienced mechanics.
Attention: If in the range of 10.000 and 12.000 r.p.m. there is misfiring, this is a sign for too
lean air/fuel mixture (the air/fuel mixture is no more ignitable).
Attention: When you deviate from the recommended carburetor jetting, this may lead to
engine damage.
Note: The engine 125 MAX DD2 is due to its higher performance, significantly more
sensitive to wrong jetting than engine FR 125 MAX, therefore start with a main jet at
the safe side, i.e. the richer jetting when you try to optimize the jetting.
