The “curve of driving resistance” indicates the driving resistance of the vehicle. Depending on the
weight of the driver, the gear reduction ratio and the grip of the tires this curve may move
downwards or upwards.
The “performance curve 1” indicates the engine performance curve of the 125 MAX DD2 with
optimized adjustment of the carburetor main jet. The engine performance curve, up to maximum
r.p.m., is always above the curve of the driving resistance of the vehicle. The engine theoretically
can reach the maximum of 13.600 r.p.m.
The „performance curve 2“ indicates an engine performance curve with the carburettor main jet
adjustment not optimized. The engine performance curve crosses the curve of driving resistance of
the vehicle sooner than with optimum jetting. The max. r.p.m. in this case is at the intersection of
the two curves (in this case at approx. 12.800 r.p.m.).
For better understanding and as help for carburetor adjustment the following sketch describes the
effect of the various adjustments, depending on throttle position.
