10.5.1 Dial-Up Test
Unplug the unit.
o If the batteries are charged, Communicator sends an SMS/voice/pager alarm
message to the numbers configured in the Address Book. The message should arrive
within several minutes.
o If the batteries are not charged, Communicator does not send an alarm message. In
addition, an alarm message appears on the screen.
10.5.2 Voltage Test
1. Remove the battery pack.
2. Using a voltmeter, test the pack. The voltage of a new charged battery pack ranges between
7.2 V and 7.6 V. The voltage of a battery pack that has been in use for an extended period of
time will be 7.2 V or lower.
o If the power is above 7.0 volts or higher, continue using the battery pack.
o If the power is below 7.0 volts, replace the pack immediately.
