Installation
5.2 Preparation for installation
Valve and actuator can be assembled before
or after the valve has been installed in the
pipeline.Werecommendrstinstallingthe
valve without the actuator into the pipeline.
Beforeinstallation,makesurethefollowing
conditions are met:
The valve is clean.
The valve, actuator and all piping are
not damaged.
Install a strainer upstream of the regula-
tor.
The valve data on the nameplate (type
designation,valvesize,material,pres-
sure rating and temperature range)
matchtheplantconditions(sizeand
pressure rating of the pipeline, medium
temperature etc.). See the 'Markings on
the device' section for nameplate details.
Therequestedorrequiredadditionalt-
tings (see the 'Design and principle of
operation' section) have been installed or
prepared as necessary before installing
the valve.
Proceed as follows:
Î Lay out the necessary material and tools
to have them ready during installation
work.
Î Flush the pipeline before installing the
regulator.
The plant operator is responsible for
cleaning the pipelines in the plant.
Î For steam applications, dry the pipelines.
Moisture will damage the inside of the
regulator.
Î Check any mounted pressure gauges to
make sure they function properly.
