Reductant pump
There are two types of reductant pumps:
• Reductant pump with mechanical overflow
protection, left-hand one in the illustration
• Reductant pump with electronic overflow
protection, right-hand one in the illustration
Function tests are carried out on new reductant
pumps. This may cause crystallised urea to be
present inside the reductant pump.
Before fitting of a new reductant pump with me-
chanical overflow protection (the left-hand one
in the illustration), the pump should be blown
clean with compressed air (approx. 6 bar)
through the suction union for at least 3 seconds.
The reductant pump (to the right in the illustra-
tion) with electronic overflow protection must
never be blown clean with compressed air.
