Rough Water or Poor
Visibility Operation
Avoid operation in these conditions. If
you must do so, proceed with caution
and prudence using minimum speed.
Turn on navigation lights if necessary.
Crossing Waves
Reduce speed. Always be prepared to
steer and balance as necessary.
When crossing wakes, always keep a
safe distance from boat ahead.
Stopping/Docking
The boat is slowed by water drag. The
stopping distance will vary depending
on the boats size, weight, speed, wa-
ter surface condition, presence and di-
rection of wind and current.
The operator should become familiar-
ized with the stopping distance under
different conditions.
Reduce speed to idle. Shift to the de-
sired direction.
Low-Speed Steering Control
System
Reducing RPM to IDLE activates the
low-speed steering control feature as
described previously. For more details,
refer to LOW-SPEED STEERING CON-
TROL SYSTEM in TURNING section
above.
Beaching
CAUTION: It is not recommended to
run the boat to the beach.
Come slowly to the beach and shut off
the engine using the safety lanyard
when water depth is 90 cm (3 ft) under
the hull, then pull the boat to the
beach. Ensure that all accessories are
OFF.
A. 90 cm (3 ft) of water under the hull
WARNING
When crossing wakes, slow down.
Operator and passenger(s) can
brace themselves by posting. Do
not jump waves or wakes.
WARNING
Directional control is reduced with
decreasing speed and lost when
engine is off.
WARNING
Become familiar with the LOW-
SPEED STEERING CONTROL SYS-
TEM during your first ride and be-
fore carrying passengers.
WARNING
In shallow water, shells, sand, peb-
bles or other objects could be
drawn up by the jet pump and be
thrown rearward and could dam-
age the engine.
