Obtain a LuMon Belt of the recommended size and open its package and place the LuMon Belt with the
striped fabric embedding the electrodes (Figure 5-6) facing upwards onto a flat surface.

Shake the LuMon Contact Spray spray can for at least 10 seconds and apply LuMon Contact Spray to the
LuMon Belt striped fabric on the patient-facing side as shown in Figure 8-5. Repeat the spraying until the
striped fabric is wetted evenly and entirely. Where possible avoid spraying any LuMon Contact Spray outside
the strip fabric area.

Apply the LuMon Belt to the patient as shown in Figure 8-6, which shows the LuMon Belt application first
around the pa left side and then the right:
• Turn the patient to the right side.
• Identify the 7th cervical vertebra (C7) being highlighted by . C7 has a large, easily identifiable
spinous process that protrudes posteriorly at the back of the neck.
• Place the belt aside the patient with the striped fabric of the left belt flap facing upwards and oriented
away from the patient and with the right belt flap folded up with the striped fabric facing downwards.
Hereby align the top-end of the mid-line on the LuMon Belt
black solid and red broken lines.
• Flip the left belt flap over the left chest of the patient.
• Pay attention to maintain the LuMon Belt in this position when turning the patient to the left side.
• Retrieve right belt flap and shoulder strap from under the patient
• Secure front buckle as shown and tighten the belt.
• Attach shoulder straps and tighten, before tightening the lower back strap.
• Make sure the belt follows the ribs along the 5th/6th ICS on an oblique plane with the with the top-
end of the mid-line of the LuMon Belt C
skin but does not restrict breathing.
• Then connect the LuMon Belt with the LuMon Connector.
