Early Warning “Area Mail”
Area Mail is a service which enables you to receive earthquake
early warnings, tsunami warning or emergency warnings of
weather, etc. sent from the Japan Meteorological Agency, or
disaster and evacuation information sent from national and
local governments without being influenced by congestion of
the line.

Area Mail is a free service that does not require a subscription.
z
You can save up to 50 Area Mails. If the number of saved Area
Mails exceeds the maximum number to be saved, they are
deleted from the oldest one.

In the following cases, you cannot receive Area Mail.
While the power is turned off
During international roaming
In Airplane mode
During software update
While PIN code entry screen is displayed
While using another carrier's SIM card
During a voice call (except VoLTE voice call)

When the handset memory has no available space, or tethering
is set or using packet communication, you may not receive Area
Mail.
z
You cannot receive the Area Mail (earthquake early warnings)
that failed to be received again. It is possible to receive the Area
Mail (tsunami warning, emergency warnings of weather, etc. or
disaster and evacuation information) that failed to be received
again because it is resent.
Receiving Early Warning “Area Mail”
When receiving an Area Mail, the notification screen is
displayed, and it notifies with the exclusive buzzer or exclusive
ringtone, and vibrator.

The exclusive buzzer sound or exclusive ringtone cannot be
changed.

When the Area Mail is received, the exclusive
buzzer or exclusive ringtone sounds, the icon is
displayed on the status bar and its message is
displayed
