9 Setup
When connecting and setting up the installation consider the safety instruc‐
tions and the manual “Unit Assembly Complying EMC”.
9.1 SD2S Connection and Switch-on
For wiring also read the
chapter 11 "General Information Regarding the Wiring",
page 89.
The following connectors must be wired at the least:
▶ mains supply (L1, L2, L3, PE)
▶ motor phases (U, V, W, PE)
▶ OSSD (safety circuit)
▶ communication with PC (e.g. USB port)
▶ external ballast resistor or bridge for internal ballast resistor
We recommend also to connect the digital input D-IN2 with a quick stop
function.
Before switch-on install the software
drivemaster2
on the connected PC.
➮ Switch on the device now.
➮ Check the device status by means of the status display (see section 10.2 "7-
segment display", page 82). As soon as the controller is ready, you can set the
parameters of SD2S in the software
drivemaster2
and put the device into opera‐
tion.
