4 Setting up the OCI600 with
the ACS7.. software
4.1 Opening the connection and
starting up the software
4.1.1 Preparatory work
1. Connect the PC to the OCI600 using a direct cable link
as described in section “5.2 Communication via RS-
232“.
2. On the OCI600, make the following selection on line
number 08 of operating card 3:
4 = 9600 Baud for a direct connection via RS-232.
3. Make the following selection on line number 11 of operat-
ing card 3:
3 = PC local with alarms
4.1.2 Prerequisite
For setting up the OCI600, the user must have logged in on
user level “Service“ or “Administrator“. For additional infor-
mation, refer to Online Help of your ACS7... software, menu
item Extras > Password…
4.1.3 Starting up the ACS7..
1. Start up ACS Service via the ACS Service icon on your
desktop or via Start > Programs > ACS > ACS Ser-
vice.
2. Log on using the service or administrator password.
3. Select Plant > New > Plant….
4. The “Save as...“ dialog opens.
Enter a file name for your plant, e.g. “Oslo East“.
5. Confirm by choosing Save: The “General” dialog opens.
6. Choose Next >: The “Communication” dialog opens.
7. Select the type of central unit: OCI600.
