7.5.2.2 Operating conditions
Mechanical and climatic conditions of use
The device is designed for use in locations protected from the effects of the weather. The
conditions of use meet the requirements for EN/IEC 61131-2.
Testing mechanical ambient conditions
For the device SIMATIC IFP Basic, the type and scope of tests for mechanical ambient
conditions are as follows:
Vibration test in accordance
with IEC 60068, part 2-6
(sinusoidal)
Frequency cycles at a rate of change of 1 oc-
tave/minute.
5 to 8.4 Hz, constant amplitude 3.5 mm
8.4 to 200 Hz, constant acceleration 1 g
10 frequency cycles per axis in each of the three mu-
with IEC 60068, Part 2-27
Severity of shock:
Peak value 15 g, duration 11 ms
3 shocks in ± direction of axis in each of the three axes
Shock pulses within the specified range can be transferred to the display but do not impact
the functionality of the device.
For the device SIMATIC IFP1200 Basic C, if the device is installed with the method of vesa
mounting, the type and scope of tests for mechanical ambient conditions are as follows:
Vibrations Vibration test in accordance
with IEC 60068, part 2-6 (si-
nusoidal)
Type of vibration:
Frequency cycles at a rate of change of 1 octave/minute.
5 to 8.4 Hz, constant amplitude 3.5 mm
8.4 to 200 Hz, constant acceleration 1 g
10 frequency cycles per axis in each of the three mutual-
Shock test in accordance with
IEC 60068, Part 2-27
Severity of shock:
Peak value 15 g, duration 11 ms
3 shocks in ± direction of axis in each of the three axes
For the device SIMATIC IFP1200 Basic C, if the device is installed with mounting clip, the type
and scope of tests for mechanical ambient conditions are as follows:
