3.3.3 Connecting devices with 24V DC 2-pin
You can operate the IFP Basic with the voltage 24V DC 2-pin.
Note before connecting the device
Safe electrical isolation
The device may only be connected to a 24V DC power supply that meets the requirements
of a Safety Extra-Low Voltage (SELV) according to IEC/EN/DIN EN/UL 61010-1 or the
requirements of a Protective Extra-Low Voltage (PELV) according to
IEC/EN/DIN EN/UL 61010-1.
Damage to device due to inadequate cable cross-section
Using power supply cables with cross-sections that are too small can damage the device in
the event of a short circuit.
For SIMATIC IFP Basic and SIMATIC IFP1200 Basic C, the power supply connector is designed
for cables with a cross-section between 0.75 mm
