Partner stations
Partner stations > "Partner 'X'"
●
The partner number is assigned by the system automatically and is used not to identify
only the master address but also the communications partner. The partner number is
required during configuration of the datapoints to assign the datapoints to a
communications partner.
●
Station address of the communications partner (master). The station address is required
to identify the master in the network.
The same station address must be assigned to the master during its own configuration.
– DNP3:
Note on SIMATIC PCS 7 as DNP3 master: The station address is configured there as
ASDU.
Partner stations > Partner 'X' > "Connection to partner"
The TCP connection monitoring time is set for all TCP connections of the CP in the
parameter group of the Ethernet interface, see also the section Ethernet interface (X1) >
Advanced options (Page 43). These settings apply to all TCP connections of the CP.
With the DNP3 CP, it is also possible to set the globally set TCP connection monitoring time
separately for each individual partner:
●
TCP connection monitoring time
The value set in the partner station of the DNP3 CP overwrites the global value for this
partner that was set in the parameter group "Ethernet interface (X1) > Advanced options
> TCP connection monitoring".
With the IEC CP, the monitoring time can only be set globally for the Ethernet interface and
are not for each individual communications partner.

●
Indicates the DNP3 implementation level supported by the CP
For the communication between the DNP3 CP and the master, the DNP3 level supported
by the master must be known.
For more detailed information, refer to the section Partner stations (Page 46).
