Maximum waiting time for the response from the master to an authentication request of
the DNP3 CP.
Exceeding the wait time is evaluated as an error by the DNP3 CP. In this case, the DNP3
CP generates a security event and sends this to the master. The DNP3 CP does not
enter a message in the diagnostics buffer of the CPU.
Possible values: 0 ... 65535 s. For security reasons, avoid entering 0 (zero).
●
The pre-shared key can be configured in two ways:
– Manual configuration
Enter the pre-shared key in STEP 7 manually as a hexadecimal value.
– Import as file
Import the pre-shared key from the file system of the engineering station if the pre-
shared key was generated by the master or another engineering system.
The pre-shared key of the DNP3 CP must be identical to the pre-shared key that the
master uses.
Communication with the CPU
Communication with the CPU > "Data buffer size"
●
Here, you set the size of the send buffer for events.
A maximum of 64000 events divided up equally among the communications partners can
be buffered.
You will find details of how the send buffer works (storing and sending events) as well as the
options for transferring data in the section Types of transmission, event classes, triggers
(Page 39).
With the DNP3 CP, other conditions for the sending of events can be configured, refer to the
section Ethernet interface (X1) > Advanced options (Page 43).
