7.3 Performing an online configuration

Overview
Introduction
You can configure the plant in online mode after having completed its wiring. You can use the
"Automatic configuration" function to load the SINAMICS components connected via DRIVE-
CLiQ to your PG/PC. However, this is only possible for initial commissioning.
Note
Components without DRIVE-CLiQ connection must be edited in offline mode. You may need
to
edit DRIVE-CLiQ components which were detected in the course of automatic configuration
(for example, adding encoder data if using SMC modules).
Prerequisites for online configuration
● You
have created a project in SIMOTION SCOUT and inserted a SIMOTION D410-2 in the
project.
● You have configured the communication between the SIMOTION D410-2 and the PG/PC.
● Your system has been installed and wired.
Procedure
The online configuration involves the following steps:
● Establishing the online connection (Page 163)
● Starting automatic configuration (Page 163)
● Reconfiguring SINAMICS components (Page 166)
● Downloading a project to the SIMOTION D410-2 (Page 167)
