1 Device description
The flow monitor is available in two versions, both of which are described in this operating
manual. You can ascertain which version you have from the type plate on the device:
• Compact version VES
With this version, the flow sensor and associated evaluating electronics form one unit.
The flow rate can therefore be monitored directly at the measuring point.
• Separate version VEG
The flow sensor installed in the pipeline is connected via a cable to the evaluating elec-
tronics (switching transducer), which is designed for rail mounting.
The switching transducer is available in two different versions:
- EU3011V0000126 with 24 VDC power supply
- EU3011V0000240 with 230 VDC power supply and additional temperature setpoint.
1.1 Intended use
SIKA electronic flow monitors are designed for monitoring a specified flow rate.
WARNING! No safety component!
The flow monitors of the series VE are no safety components in accordance with Di-
rective 2006/42/EC (Machine Directive).
Never use the VE as a safety component.
The operational safety of the device supplied is only guaranteed by intended use. The speci-
fied limits ( § 8 “Technical data”) may under no circumstances be exceeded.
Before installation, check whether the wetted materials of the device are suitable for the
medium used. ( § 8.2 “Materials table”).
1.2 Exclusion of liability
We accept no liability for any damage or malfunctions resulting from incorrect installation,
in-appropriate use of the device or failure to follow the instructions in this operating manual.
