4 Installation in pipeline
• Install the flow monitor in the pipeline prepared according to section 3 (see also
Fig. 2a+b).
• The flow monitor operates independently of the flow direction of the medium.
• However, please observe the following instructions in order to achieve the highest possi-
ble setpoint accuracy.
• In order to avoid impairing the function of the flow monitor by flow turbulence, no instal-
lation parts affecting the flow cross-section or the flow direction may be fitted directly
upstream or downstream of the flow monitor. The guide value for inlet and outlet sec-
tions is 4...8 times of the pipe diameter.
• Measuring probes are available in two lengths for different nominal pipe diameters.
When screwing into the pipeline, make sure that the probe is completely immersed in the
medium without the probe tip touching the opposite inner wall of the pipe.
• For installation in open systems and for air inclusions in the medium, install the flow
monitor in the riser pipe.
• With lateral mounting, air pockets and deposits can hardly lead to impairments if the
measuring probe is completely surrounded by the medium (Fig. 2a).
• If you cannot avoid air pockets in the pipeline, the function of the flow monitor is guaran-
teed when installed from below in the pipeline if the probe is still completely in the medi-
um (Fig. 2b).
• Installation from above is only possible in air-free pipelines.
