5.1.3 Style C wiring guidelines
Style C field wiring connections between initiating devices and the panel are made as shown in the following figure. Refer to Guidelines at
the beginning of this section for general wiring guidelines and compatible devices. Refer to Style C Guidelines below for specific Style C-
related information.
Style C is a mode of operation (selected at the time the panel is programmed) where the monitor circuit treats both open and shorts as
trouble conditions. When Style C is selected, alarms are initiated on IDCs only when a current limited condition is present.
On all Style C (class B) circuits in use, terminate the end-of-line with a listed 3.3K, 1W (733-893) resistor. See item 5 in Figure 13.
Leave 3.3K, 1/2W resistor (378-115) across all unused IDC terminals. See item 4 in Figure 13.
Use 24 VDC Aux Power only if initiating device is four-wire. 24 VDC Aux Power must be routed through a 2098-9735 end-of-line relay, as
shown in Figure 14.
On all Style C (Class B) circuits, contact closure-type initiating devices are prohibited unless they are UL Listed with an internal resistance
